PurdUeSA is on the cusp of clinching a spot in the medal rounds after another somewhat easy victory this morning. Today the Boilers defeated the Czech Republic 107-78, marking their second straight game with over 100 points. Now 3-0, we’re all but assured of reaching the medal rounds. It would take losses to both Romania and Estonia in the final two games of the group stage to miss the medal rounds.

PurdUeSA started the game with an 11-0 run and led 32-14 after a quarter. The Czechs started closing in with a solid second quarter, cutting it to 56-46 by halftime. PurdUeSA led 82-64 after three quarters, however, and coasted to the win.

Vince Edwards once again had an excellent game 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists on 8 of 12 shooting. Isaac Haas continued his amazing shooting percentage in the tournament by going 7 of 8 from the floor for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Ryan Cline and Carsen Edwards were also in double figures with 12 each. P.J. Thompson’s return from his thigh bruise was decent with 8 points. Jacquil Taylor only had one rebound, but he did contribute 9 points. Dakota Mathias also had 9.

Among the newcomers Sasha Stefanovic splashed a three and led them with 7 points.

PurdUeSA continues to lead the tournament in scoring at just over 107 points per game. Vince is our leading scorer at 17 points per game and he is averaging over 8 rebounds per game. Haas is shooting an efficient 68% from the floor (15 of 22), but Cline is also shooting 62%, including 7 of 14 from three.
