2017 Projection: Likely redshirt
Seeing the field as a true freshman at defensive end while only weighing 210 pounds is highly unlikely, so it seems McWilliams is destined for a redshirt. He does come from coral Gables High, which has produced a number of NFL players in the past. Frank Gore, Jonathan Vilma, Denzel Perryman, and Darryl Sharpton all attended Coral Gables HS. It is also a strong baseball school, with Yonder Alonso, Mike Lowell, Eli Marrero, and Juan Alvarez as alums.

McWilliams will either be a defensive end or outside linebacker at Purdue. Given Purdue’s current state at linebacker it means a redshirt is likely in order, but we will check back in 2018.
