Last week Purdue announced that it would host Memphis in 2020 and Indiana State in 2022 as part of its future schedules. This week it adjusted the coming resumption of the Notre Dame series.

After playing every season between 1946 and 2014 the Fighting Irish went off the schedule following a Shamrock Series game in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium during Darrell Hazell’s second season. Originally, they were going to return to the schedule on September 19, 2020 with a visit to Ross-Ade Stadium. Purdue would then go to South bend in 2021, host the Irish in 2024, go to South Bend in 2025, and have a neutral site game in 2026.
That five game deal is now a six game deal. Purdue loses the 2020 game in West Lafayette, but will still go to South Bend in 2021 (which makes sense since the last on campus game in the series was in West Lafayette in 2013). The Irish will still come to Purdue in 2024, which starts an alternating series between West Lafayette and South Bend of five games through 2028.
Purdue now has an opening again for the 2020 non-conference schedule, as it will host Memphis and go to Boston College. Notre Dame joins Wake Forest as the second 2027 game scheduled with both games being on the road, and the 2028 game is the first game scheduled for that season. Also of note for that 2027 game, the trip to Wake Forest was originally scheduled for September 2nd or 4th, so that game has now been moved to TBA.
