Today’s player is one that could be a breakout player as a true freshman. He has already impressed many in fall camp and could be a surprise starter from day 1.
Keyron Catlett – Fr.
Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County)
5’10”, 180 pounds
Wide Receiver
2017 Projection: Contributor at wide receiver
With a virtually new receiver corps outside of Anthony Mahoungou and Gregory Phillips someone had to emerge. Enter Catlett, who is a high school teammate of fellow freshman Kenneth Major. Catlett has drawn rave reviews so far as a slot receiver and is one of the players emerging from a crowded field to play at receiver.
In high school down in Kentucky he was a First Team All-State selection with 53 receptions for 856 yards and 9 TDs. He also rushed 40 times for 233 yards and five more scores. He is a dynamic player that seems to excel at making other guys miss when he has the ball in his hands. It is probably very early to say this, but think of him as a poor man’s Dorien Bryant.
