20 Days to Purdue Football: Kenneth Major

The freshman followed Jeff Brohm from Western Kentucky to Purdue.

Will Purdue have a true freshman cornerback on the field this year? Today’s first player could be that guy.

Kenneth Major – Fr.

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County HS)

6’, 190 pounds

Cornerback

2017 Projection: Possible redshirt

Jeff Brohm likes to recruit his home state of Kentucky, and Major was one of those late commitments after he was hired. Major committed to Purdue just before signing day, following coach Brohm from his original commitment at Western Kentucky. As usual, he is a guy with good speed at corner, but it will take him a little time to get used to the Big Ten.

Major is probably going to redshirt this year. Purdue has some other options that are better at cornerback, but if he really impresses the coaching staff I know they will not hesitate to put him on the field early. We may have to check back with him in 2018, however.
