21 Days to Purdue Football: Anthony Mahoungou

The senior from France is finally getting his opportunity.

Purdue needs outside receivers, and the senior from France is busting his butt to see more playing time.

Anthony Mahoungou – Sr.

Paris, France (West Hills Community College)

6’3”, 210 pounds

Wide Receiver

2017 Projection: Contributor at wide receiver

The word on Mahoungou is that he is a hard worker, but limited in what he can actually do. He is a tall, fast receiver, but has yet to truly break out after two years. In 2015 he came over as a JuCo transfer and played in all 12 games. He finished with 8 passes for 93 yards, but like many players under Hazell, he had a strong first game (four receptions for 59 yards) and then was relegated to the bench.

Last year was a little better. He had 13 receptions for 99 yards, but still did not truly breakout because there were a lot of seniors ahead of him. Now he is one of those seniors. His hard work will probably get him on the field, especially at a position of need, but we are unsure of his impact.
