Sure, it wasn’t the gold, but he played well.

Carsen is coming home with some hardware. For the past week or so, Carsen has been in Egypt for the U-19 World Championships. He worked his butt off to get there, making the cur for the roster in the first place.

We most definitely wanted C-Boog to win the gold medal, but Team USA ended up with getting the Bronze today. Yesterday, Team USA was beaten by Team Canada, who knew they played anything other than Hockey up there.

R.J. Barrett has 30+ points and over 10 rebounds to push Team Canada to victory.

Today, Team USA took it out on Team Spain though, by winning with the final score of 96 to 72.

Obviously, this is was a great experience for Carsen, as he got to play with some of the best players in the world. But just as a person this would be awesome, there were pictures of him doing so much over there, he even rode a Camel!

Carsen simply played his butt off as well, here are his final numbers.

22.5 Minutes Per Game

11 Points Per Game

3.3 Assists Per Game

1.7 Rebounds Per Game

1.0 Steals Per Game

Any experience obviously helps him as a person and basketball player. He will be on a revenge tour when Purdue travels to Taipei for the World University Games in August. I hope we come home with the gold!

Carsen could make the coveted sophomore jump, like Biggie did from year 1 to year 2. As a Freshman he averaged over 10 points per game, he will most likely exceed that number this upcoming season.

You can catch Purdue scrimmage Team Canada in the coming weeks as well. There is a game at Carmel on August 11th at 7 PM and they will play them again on August 12th at 4:30 PM at Lafayette Jeff.
