38 Days to Purdue Football: Brennan Thieneman

Another walk-on is today’s featured player.

NCAA Football: Purdue at Indiana Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Just three days ago this player’s brother was featured. Now the younger brother is a redshirt freshman walk-on trying to follow the same path to the field.

Brennan Thieneman – Fr. (RS)

Noblesville, IN (Guerin Catholic HS)

6’1”, 193 pounds

Safety

2017 Projection: Reserve at safety

The Thieneman brothers are definitely part of the Purdue family. Jacob Thieneman is a walk-on that earned extensive playing time last season and even had an interception in the game at Indiana. Brennan joined the team as a walk-on and redshirted last year. Both played for a strong Guerin Catholic team that won a few sectionals in 2013 and 2014 in Indiana.

As a senior in 2015 at Guerin Brennan was a two-way player. He rushed for 345 yards and 2 touchdowns. On defense he had 97 tackles and five interceptions at safety in 11 games. Like his brother, he is trying to make an impact on special teams first this coming year.
