Another kickoff time has been announced for the upcoming football season. According to a press release from Missouri Athletics, Purdue and Missouri will kickoff at 4pm Eastern time.
This will be Purdue football’s first appearance on the SEC Network, which is obvious because it is Purdue’s first regular season game against an SEC foe since 1942. That year Purdue faced Vanderbilt as the second part of a home and home. The Boilermakers have not played a regular season game against an SEC foe (Missouri and Texas A&M have been on the schedule, but not as SEC members) since and has only played against the SEC against Georgia in a pair of bowl games. Purdue also played Tennessee in the 1979 Bluebonnet Bowl.
It also means that Purdue starts the season with four straight non-noon kickoffs:
Sept 2 vs. Louisville at Lucas Oil Stadium - 7:30pm FOX
Sept. 8 vs. Ohio - 8pm FoxSports1
Sept. 16 at Missouri - 4pm SEC Network
Sept. 23 vs. Michigan - 3:30 or 4pm TBD
