Myles Homan – So.
Cincinnati, OH (St. Xavier HS)
6’1”, 220 pounds
2017 Projection: Reserve at kicker
There are benefits to being the kicker for a football powerhouse. Just ask Carlos Huerta, the unassuming kicker who became a household name in the late 80s and early 90s for coming on to kick extra points for those great Miami Hurricanes teams. Myles Homan was the kicker for Ohio power Cincinnati St. Xavier, so he likely had similar notoriety in Cincinnati.
It is a bit of a surprise that Homan is here, actually. In high school he originally committed to play at the U.S. Naval Academy, but changed his mind to walk on at Purdue. That year he was 39 of 40 on PATs and 6 of 13 on field goals with a long of 44 yards. His team went 10-3 that year and lost in the regional finals of the state playoffs. He was one of 10 players to move on to play collegiately from Cincinnati St. Xavier in 2014, one of the best HS football powerhouses in the Midwest.
At Purdue he is sitting behind J.D. Dellinger at the moment, but he has done relatively well in spring games to this point.
