Big Ten Football: Who is Best Dressed?

Athlon Sports made a pretty good ranking here. But, I don’t agree with them 100% on all of it. Here is their order: 14. IU, 13. Rutgers, 12. Iowa, 11. Minnesota, 10. Maryland, 9. Nebraska, 8. Michigan State, 7. Wisconsin, 6. Ohio State, 5. Northwestern, 4. Purdue, 3. Illinois, 2. Michigan, 1. Penn State

That’s right, we are 4th! The highest we have been ranked in the B1G well since, forever it seems like. So, while I agree with some, I made my own list. Which is 100% better because, well it just is. I am taking into account specific uniforms, such as Maryland’s Pride Uniforms (Puke) or Penn State’s White-Outs (Heart Emoji here).

I have thrown up, the helmets are just disgusting. It is all just bad, this combo with black tops are even worse. Enough said.

13. Indiana - Weird Thin Number Helmet Things and Candy Striped Chrome

Alabama should be the only team allowed to wear numbers on their helmets. Keep the candy stripes in Assembly Hall.

Nothing says ugly like a dark pee colored helmet.

10. Wisconsin - Just boring uniforms

This is their base, it is just plain boring to me. Yes, you can say tradition or whatever. But Wisconsin isn’t a powerhouse like Alabama, Ohio State or Penn State that should never change what they have going on.

9. Iowa - Also boring, but colors are better.

Yawn. Throw some black pants on this uniform and all black is a top half. Make it a flat black helmet too with a black hawkeye on the side. Now we are talking. Are they hiring? Bring me in as a uniform consultant.

8. Nebraska - A Tradition, but just okay. Their all whites are nice.

Time to update these bad boys. I really don’t mind the all white version of this. But it is no Penn State all white. The stripes on the shoulders are dated at this point.

7. Illinois - Have tried to update, but have just been okay.

I really like the flat blue/white/blue combo. These have gotten way better. Their older uniforms would have been bottom 5.

6. Northwestern - Pat Fitzgerald has turned these uniforms around, they are great.

If Iowa would do something like this and throw some black pants on them, they would be ranked this high. Northwestern has a plethora of uniforms that are great. They have worn this helmet top combo with black pants before as well, it is even prettier.

Let us not forget the the new white helmets as well. These are all just solid. Hard to beat the blackout uniforms with the new train on them. Time to back up our nice jerseys with some great play.

4. Michigan State

These are sharp. They have several combos that are really good. I believe they have worn these with grey tops and bottoms as well. A few years back they wore a gold helmet that stole the show.

3. Michigan - Tradition, Tradition, Tradition

Jordan Brand took over their uniforms. Nothing has changed. These will never get old to look at.

2. Ohio State - Traditional Scarlet and Grey

These are a college football staple. OSU has toyed with their uniforms a bit since Urban Meyer has been there, but when in doubt they go back to these guys.

1. Penn State - White Outs

Oh ya. These might be the best in America. Then, a night game there, all 100,000 fans wearing white for a full white out. These are just the best. Tradition and style.
