Today’s second player is another redshirt junior looking to make an impact.

2017 Projection: Reserve at offensive guard

Unlike Keiwan Jones, Yacoobi has seen some action in his career. He played in a handful of games as a reserve both in 2015 and 2016, but has not quite worked his way into the starting lineup. He is an academic all-Big Ten selection, however. He came to us as a three-star commitment out of Dearborn HS in Michigan.

Back in February GBI had a small update on Yacoobi as spring practice started under Jeff Brohm. He saw a little action with the first team at guard, and as we head into fall camp it looks like he will be one of four guys battling for a starting spot there. At the very least, he should be a key reserve on an offensive line looking for depth. He will battle for playing time with Shane Evans, Michael Mendez, and Matt McCann (if McCann shifts inside to guard).
