A Jeff Brohm Offense is a Fun Filled Offense

What can we expect from a Jeff Brohm offense this fall?

NCAA Football: Purdue at Indiana Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

I think we can all agree on this: We are excited to see an offense in Ross-Ade that has an actual direction, other than backwards.

Coach Brohm is known for his high flying offense, where they ranked number 1 in the nation last season in points per game at 45.5 ppg.

But what can we expect from each position and how we will fair in the the B1G? We return the leading passer in the B1G in David Blough, he also lead in interceptions. We have a plethora of running backs to form a nice little stable. The receiving core leaves a big question mark. Let’s look at what Coach Brohm’s individual guys did at each position and a nice little prediction of what I think our guys will do this upcoming season.

Quarterback:

Mike White 2016-2017: 4363 Yards, 67%, 37 Touchdowns, 7 Interceptions

David Blough 2017-2018 (Prediction): 3700 Yards, 62%, 31 Touchdowns, 14 Interceptions

Running Back:

Anthony Wales 2016-2017: 237 Carries, 1621 Yards, 27 Touchdowns

Quinton Baker 2016-2017: 99 Carries, 542 Yards, 4 Touchdowns

Markell Jones, Tario Fuller, Richie Worship, D.J. Knox 2017-2018 (Prediction): 280 Carries, 1350 Yards, 15 Touchdowns

Wide Receiver/Tight End:

Taywan Taylor 2016-2017: 98 Receptions, 1730 Yards, 17 Touchdowns

Nicholas Norries 2016-2017: 76 Receptions, 1318 Yards, 14 Touchdowns

Nacarius Fant 2016-2017: 29 Receptions, 407 Yards, 2 Touchdowns

Isaac Zico 2017-2018 (Prediction): 74 Receptions, 1275 Yards, 8 Touchdowns

Terry Wright 2017-2018 (Prediction): 60 Receptions, 950 Yards, 6 Touchdowns

Jackson Anthrop/Corey Holmes 2017-2018 (Prediction): 25 Receptions, 330 Yards, 3 Touchdowns

Cole Herdman 2017-2018 (Prediction): 42 Receptions, 450 Yards, 6 Touchdowns

Predicted Points per Game: 34 Points Per Game

I don’t really think we will win a bunch of football games. Probably between 3-6 wins. If we win six games, a statue should be risen after year one with the roster he inherits. I was talking to a friend the other day, and I said, I think we will lose a lot of games, but it will be at least entertaining even if we do lose. We will score a bunch of points, but the question remains, how will our defense look.

I am excited to see an explosive offense in Ross-Ade again. Also, alcohol will be sold all over, so we can always just drink if it doesn’t go as planned.
