Purdue did not have a ton of true freshmen play last season, but today’s player was one of them. He enters this year hoping to make the sophomore leap.
Alex Criddle – So.
Broken Arrow, OK (Thomas Edison HS)
6’4”, 307 pounds
Defensive tackle
2017 Projection: Contributor at Defensive Tackle
When you have a problem at defensive tackle sticking a 6’4”, 307 pound man there is a good solution. Criddle was not a regular starter there, but he did play a decent amount. He finished the year with only one tackle in six games played. He mostly was behind a few other players that were more game-ready, but after a year of conditioning he should be better suited to play this season.
Criddle was one of the top prospects in Oklahoma his senior season as a two-way lineman. He had originally committed to Tulane, but flipped to Purdue later on. He is still a work in progress, but out of necessity he may see more playing time this year.
