You though Coach was done at 2 defensive back recruits, probably. The secondary obviously is of high importance for Coach Brohm. as Cory Trice makes defensive back number 4 for the 2018 class. Joining, Kaden Smith, Elijah Ball and Byron Perkins. The makeover of the secondary i in full swing, as after this year we lose Hunte and grad transfer Josh Okoyne, as predicted starters.
Trice is a great pick up for our Boilers. He is a 6’3”, 190 Pound safety out of Christian County School in Kentucky. The same high school as 2017 commits, Kenneth Major (DB) and Keyron Catlett an athlete predicted to be at wide receiver. This school must be absolutely loaded in talent. We are reaping the benefits of it.
Coach Holt wants long and rangy defensive backs that can go up and make plays, here are the heights of the 4 commits for 2018 in the secondary, 6’3”. 6’2”, 6’2”, and 6’1”. That is length. Trice is super athletic and makes plays on the ball whenever he gets the chance. He is the tallest at 6’3”. I love the tall lanky defensive backs we are recruiting.
According to Rivals, Trice is a 3* prospect, with offers from, Miami (OH), Bowling Green and Eastern Kentucky. His recruitment was picking up with good showings in the summer, as Louisville, Michigan State and Western Kentucky have shown interest. We just snuck in first. Welcome to West Lafayette, Cory! Boiler Up!
