Being a walk-on offensive lineman is not necessarily a bad thing. Eric Swingler is well on his way to seeing the field as a walk-on, so it is not impossible with hard work

Offensive Line

2017 Projection: Deep reserve at offensive line.

Ferguson is a walk-on from nearby Noblesville HS, where he is part of a team that plays a ridiculously hard schedule every season. They play in the tough Hoosier Crossroads Conference, featuring teams such as Zionsville, Westfield, Hamilton Southeastern, Avon, and Fishers. If that isn’t hard enough, when they get to the state tournament their reward is often Carmel.

For much of his career the Millers were around .500 as they battled those state powers week-in, week-out. He was also an accomplished track and field athlete. In his senior year he was the Hamilton County and Sectional champion in the shot put as well as the Conference and Sectional champion in the discus. He throws things well, so hopefully he can throw defensive linemen.
