Football:
Coach Brohm has continued his recruiting success with two more commits this week. Jac Cravaack a 6’5” Athlete from Ohio gave his verbal earlier this week. He doesn’t know exactly what position he will be playing at Purdue, but it will be either Defensive End or Tight End. Defensive End seems more likely. The other commit, Charles Allen, a 6’4”, 305 pound guard from Kentucky, gave his verbal this week also. He is the ideal type of lineman that Coach Brohm wants, long arms, and quick feet.
The recruiting for the football team has really picked up in the past couple of weeks. We are looking at a pretty big class for 2017, probably 25 or more members I would guess. I really like the players Coach is getting so far.
What is going on today with Purdue football? Over 100 specialists are here for a camp, kickers, punters and long snappers. Don’t be surprised if there is a commitment this weekend from a kicker for punter that Coach Levine falls in love with.
Men’s Basketball:
Purdue hosted the team camp for schools around the state or outside the state. Some big news came yesterday, as class of 2019 recruit, Jeremiah Francis, a priority pushed his commitment date back to his Senior year. Before, he wanted to do if by this fall.
Coach Painter has Robby Carmody on campus this weekend for an official visit. There won’t be a commitment from him, he is going to weigh his options I am sure. He has been to campus a handful of times since we offered him two summers ago. Robby is a priority for the 2018 class, I really think he would be a great fit here in the old gold and black.
Team practice started this week as well. While it has remained relatively quiet I ehar that the freshman have impressed. I saw Aaron Wheeler on campus this week, he looks all of the part, and seems to be taller than 6’8”. 6’9”-6’10” seems possible. Nojel Eastern also looks the part and will probably get a lot of playing time this year. Who does he look like build wise? Probably close to Vincent Edwards in thickness and speed. Remember, Eden Ewing will not be here until July, so he will miss the month of June. \
This is a short one for me this week guys, if there is something else that happened this week, feel free to leave it in the comments!
