Purdue Football Recruiting: Charles Allen Commits!

Purdue adds some much needed size in on the line with commitment of massive Charles Allen.

Purdue’s hot streak in recruiting continued today when Charles Allen, a massive 6’4, 300 pound, 3* OG/OT/DT (depending on who you ask) from Louisville, KY (Doss Magnet Career Academy) committed to the Boilermakers today. Allen holds offers from Syracuse, Western Kentucky and a bevy of smaller schools. Both Louisville and Kentucky were showing interest but had yet to offer, much to Purdue’s benefit.

What really stands out to me on Mr. Allen’s tape (I call anyone this big Mr.) is his ability to move his giant frame. He pulls around from his tackle position with ease, and finds someone to block on the 2nd level once he gets there. Sure, he can do the straight ahead mauling, but Brohm and his staff place a premium on athletic lineman, and Mr. Allen certainly fits that description.
