Purdue’s newest commit was gracious enough to answer a few questions.

Jack Cravaack, a 6’5, 225 DE/TE from Cincinnati verbally committed to Purdue today, giving Purdue its 5th commitment in a week. Jack was gracious enough to answer a few questions for me soon after his announcement.

Your recruitment really seemed to be picking up, with Oregon St. offering recently, what made you decide that is was time to pull the trigger on your Purdue offer?

I knew Purdue was where I wanted to be and I trusted the staff to help make me the best player and man possible.

You play both TE and DE for your high school team. What position are you anticipating playing at Purdue? What skills do you bring to that position?

They're bringing me in as an athlete so I'm not 100% sure what I'll play yet but whatever the team needs and thinks I will be best at Im more than happy at playing. At both positions I will work hard to develop the proper technique and my athleticism and length will help me at both as well.

Purdue has a new coaching staff, and is starting to really get things rolling on the recruiting front. Who was your primary recruiter at Purdue, and what can you tell me about him?

My primary recruiter was Coach Jackson. He's a great coach and a great man and he was always honest with me and told me how they thought they could develop me and I enjoyed getting to know him.

In addition to playing football, you also play basketball for Madeira? How has playing basketball improved you as a football player?

Basketball has been great. It's helped my overall athleticism and my feet especially.

Do you have a message you would like to share with the Hammer and Rails readers?

I'm excited to work hard and help turn Purdue football around.

Once again, I’d like to thank Jack for taking time out of his exciting day to help me out.
