It is no secret that Jeff Brohm is not afraid to court transfers and swing big. It is also no secret that Purdue needs receivers. These two points appear to be joined together with this latest news, as Purdue made the cut for Texas Tech receiver Jonathan Giles.

Giles would probably have to sit out a year before he could play, but waiting on the 5’11” could be worth it. last year he was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award given to the nation’s best receiver. He caught 69 passes for 1,158 yards and 13 touchdowns in Texas Tech’s wide open passing offense.
On paper, at least, he would be the perfect fit. Brohm is going to open it up and needs productive receivers. He has playing time to offer and he would even get a year’s worth of practice behind the scenes to learn the offense (and torture our defensive backs in to getting better, as well).
We would welcome you in West Lafayette, Mr. Giles.
