Purdue’s then reserves got even thinner today, as Stacy Glardie from GBI reported that two players will miss the 2017 season due to injuries in spring football:
In post-spring interview with Jeff Brohm, he said spring produced two season-ending knee injuries: DE Chazmyn Turner, DB Brandon Shuman.

Brandon Shuman is a true sophomore from Miami that played at cornerback as a true freshman last fall. As it turns out, it is probably a good thing his redshirt was burned. He played in four games and had a single tackle, but now has his redshirt year available this season since he will miss the year.
Chazmyn Turner was not so lucky. He was a redshirt freshman last fall that did not play in any games as a defensive end. He is listed at 6’5” 261 pounds, but has struggled to gain a place in two years. Early in his redshirt year he was arrested for possession of marijuana on campus. That would be his one “highlight” of his time at Purdue so far.
These injuries likely do not affect the depth chart too much, as neither player was expected to challenge much for playing time. Shuman might have been more of a reserve at cornerback, but who knows.
