Purdue Football: T.J. McCollum Transfers In

Coach Brohm is grabbing a 5th year transfer from WKU.

Coach Brohm has added depth to the linebacking core that is eligible to play immediately.

T.J. McCollum once transferred from UAB, after the program shut down, to Western Kentucky. Then, from Western Kentucky, he is now coming to West Lafayette. At Western Kentucky, he was one of their standout players game in and game out.

At 6’3” 240 pounds, our middle linebacking core will look like grown men with he and Bentley. Throw Markus Bailey into the mix and we have a pretty good core of linebackers now. Wait, we also have Danny E to throw into the mix. T-Mill is convinced that one of these four could be subject to a position change, to an edge rushing spot, I am on board with him here.

McCollum was the leading tackler for WKU, with 106 tackles. 106, that is impressive in any conference you play in, 106 was enough to lead his team in tackling that year. Last season, he had 85 tackles for 2nd on the team, but he dealt with injuries throughout the season.

Either Coach Brohm is adding an instant starter to the team, or adding depth to help out with a thin linebacking core. Welcome to West Lafayette, TJ!
