We’re back in the postseason! After winning only five games against FBS level competition in the previous four seasons total Jeff Brohm has come to West Lafayette and immediately turned the Boilermakers around. Elijah Sindelar has played well at quarterback, Markell Jones is running the ball extremely well, and Anthony Mahoungou has come on as a deep threat, allowing Purdue to win three of its final four games to reach the postseason.
Purdue will face off against the Arizona Wildcats, who were 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the Pac-12. Like Purdue, they had a lot of close losses, that included 19-16 to Houston, 30-24 to Utah, and 42-30 to Arizona State. Unlike Purdue, they come in having lost three of their final four to Oregon, USC, and Arizona State.
It should be a good game with lots of offense. They average nearly 42 points per game and Purdue should be as healthy as it has been all season offensively.
