In a divisional rivalry game today, the former Purdue All-Star, Drew Brees, became the 3rd ever NFL player to surpass 70,000 passing yards in the NFL.
Congratulations to @drewbrees for becoming only the 3rd player in NFL history to reach 70,000 career passing yards!#SaintsGameday | #ATLvsNO pic.twitter.com/1wvpz4C4h6

Despite having some mediocre to bad teams around him since he was drafted by the Chargers, Drew Brees has earned his place in an elite club today (unlike other “great” quarterbacks who sit back and let the rest of the team do the work, but still take all the credit). Assuming Brees continues to play, there’s a very good chance he could become the NFL’s all-time leading passer:
Drew Brees just crossed the 70,000-yard threshold as a passer. Unless he decides to retire after this season, he should move into first place all-time in 2018, moving ahead of Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.
