Let’s put on a pot of coffee and make sure the fax machine is working. The derby to ink college football’s 2018 class has officially begun. Today is the first day ever of college football’s new early signing period. From now until Friday programs are allowed to accept national letters of intent. It is probably going to take over for the more traditional signing day in early February as teams try to lock in their respective classes early.
For Purdue, we currently have 24 commitments and the No. 40 class according to Rivals. We should get letters from 22 of them today. Willie Lane and Evander Craft will likely hold off until spring and Rondale Moore, who recently decomitted from Texas, will anounce his choice at the army All-American Game in January (likely Purdue).
That puts Purdue well over the scholarship limit going into 2018, but it will be sorted out through grades and transfers.
Keep an eye on this thread as each announcement comes in.
