Purdue Football: Jack Cravaack Signs His LOI

Purdue is getting an athlete that could either play defense or offense.

NCAA Football: Minnesota at Purdue Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Jack Cravaack

Position/Size: Defensive End OR Tight End, 6’5”, 230 Pounds

Ranking: 3*

Other Offers: Oregon State, Central Michigan, Yale, Bowling Green

Impact: Jack has no position for us right now.

We need help at both spots. To me though, tight end may be the more pressing need, as we have plenty of defensive lineman coming in.

Jack has the size and speed to do either. At 6’5”, 230 Pounds and runs a 4.65 forty yard dash, he would thrive at either.

Jack is coming to us from our border state, Ohio, where he dominated high school football for three straight seasons.

Jack will probably come in and put 20 to 30 more pounds on to work in the trenches in the B1G. He has a great upside, his recruiting was starting to pick up with other offers when he gave us his verbal.

Jack could join a crew of tight ends of Cole Herdman, Brycen Hopkins and Darius Pittman. We are thin outside of those three, so a move to tight end makes sense.

But, on the same hand, we lose Gelen Robinson at Defensive End, and we will need to fill that large void.

I am looking forward to seeing him make an impact for us.

Welcome aboard, Jack. Boiler Up!
