We haven’t gotten Rondale Moore, yet, but this weekend’s plethora of visitors for Purdue football yielded a pair of commitments today. Purdue was able to grab a running back and a tight end, both out of the state of Georgia.
Evan Anderson - RB - Purdue has lost all of its running backs and was unable to get Markese Stepp on an official visit, but we now have a decent back in Anderson. According to 247 he is a 3-star commitment and Rivals has him as a 2-star. Here are his junior highlights:
He is a bigger back at 6’1” 195 pounds from Collins Hill HS in Suwanee, Georgia. This season he ran for 1,207 yards and 13 touchdowns for a team that was 6-5 and lost int he first round of the state playoffs. He also had nearly 200 additional yards receiving and a touchdown on only 8 receptions.
To me he looks a little like DJ Knox. Knox was a lowly regarded grinder of a back that put up nice numbers in his final season. I would guess that Anderson redshirt next year because of all that Purdue returns in the backfield and is ready for 2019;
Payne Durham - TE - Durham is a huge tight end at 6’5” 250 pounds from Peachtree Ridge HS in Suwanee. 247 has not given him a rating yet, and neither does Rivals. It is probably because he played for a team that was 2-8 this year and lost big to Anderson’s team. Here is a link to his videos.
Durham’s size is going to be an asset going forward, especially with Cole Herdman and Brycen Hopkins only having a couple of years left. Because of those two and Darious Pittman Durham will likely redshirt, but He is a good guy to stash away.
