And now we were three for three, as Emmanuel Dowuona, the 6’10” big man originally from Ghana, has signed his letter of intent for Purdue.

Dowuona so far is a strong defensive center, meaning teams are not Ghana score on him very often. He is listed at 6’10” 220 pounds and he is playing at Westwood Christian School in Miami. Rivals has him as a 3-star recruit, while ESPN rates him as a 4-star and 87th nationally. That means per ESPN he is our highest rated signee today, while per Rivals he is the lowest.
So far he is a limited player offensively, but he has strong defensive characteristics as a rim protector:
I like that in the video he is a good rebounder and is especially active on the offensive glass. He also displayed a decent turn-around midrange game that could be useful. he is not going to spread the floor like Matt Haarms, but He will be a solid contributor and more of a traditional center.
This concludes today’s expected signees. Purdue still may add Tyger Campbell during the early period here, but he is visiting DePaul this weekend. Campbell would be the highest rated recruit in this class and likely round it out.
