Eric Hunter is one of the players Matt Painter wanted most in this recruiting cycle, and he got him. Hunter is a good scorer for a 6’3” shooting guard. He has some E’Twaun Moore to his game and can create his won shot. ESPN has him as a 4-star commit, and rivals has him listed as the No. 127 player nationally and also as a 4-star. Here is is summer mixtape:
Last season Hunter led Indianapolis Tindley to a 24-5 record that included the Class A state title here in Indiana. the year before they were 22-6 and lost in the regional final. His team has won at least a sectional all three years, and they were the first three sectional titles in program history. He also had a good coach, as Robert Wonnell was hired away by my beloved Kokomo Wildkats after winning the state title last season.
Since Hunter is a local kid I will definitely attempt to see him in person sometime this season. On December 9th he will have off against McCutcheon and Indiana signee Robert Phinisee at Southport. Anotehr good game will be February 8th when they take on Class 3A defending champion Indianapolis Crispus Attucks.
Here is Hunter’s full schedule.
