It’s a “Loser leaves Town Match” for the Bucket

NCAA Football: NCAA Football: Purdue at Iowa The Des Moines Register-USA TODAY Sports

The Bucket has been in exile for 1,456 days.

What has happened in that time?

  • Purdue has technically had three head coaches in football (Darrell Hazell, Gerad Parker, Jeff Brohm).
  • Morgan Burke retired and Mike Bobinski was been hired.
  • Tom Crean was fired.
  • Indiana has also fired and hired a coach.
  • Purdue won only 8 games under Hazell after November 30, 2013.
  • Brohm won as many Big Ten games in his first season as Hazell did in 3.5.
  • The U.S. missed a World Cup.
  • Donald Trump was somehow elected President.
  • Three new Star Wars movies were made.
  • We slowly got closer to the heat death of the entire universe.

That’s quite a bit, but hte worst thing int hat time has been the Bucket’s complete exile.

That can change this afternoon, as Purdue has a golden opportunity before it. A win today pretty much completely erases the Darrell Hazell error. The Bucket will be home with another rivalry trophy and Purdue will still have football to play.

Let’s get it done.
