On the eve of the Battle 4 Atlantis Purdue stays in the AP Poll for a 41st consecutive week. Purdue moved up one spot to 18th this week after beating Marquette and Fairfield, passing Louisville, whom it will play next Tuesday in West Lafayette.

Northwestern is the only team to drop out of the poll this week, as they lost a pair of games to Creighton and Texas Tech.

It is a big week for Purdue’s chances to move up, as it could played No. 5 Villanova and No. 2 Arizona on Thursday and Friday. A win over either of them would be huge, and wins over both probably has Purdue in the top 10 next week if not top 5. We would then follow that with a game against No. 19 Louisville.

Here is the Coaches’s Poll

  1. Duke
  2. Kansas
  3. Villanova
  4. Arizona
