Indiana at Purdue: Kickoff Time Announced

Purdue’s attempt to end the exile of the Bucket will be at high noon

NCAA Football: Purdue at Indiana Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

We now know the final kickoff time and TV network of the year, as the Big Ten announced that Indiana at Purdue on November 25th will be at noon on ESPN2.

I was kind of hoping for a 3:30pm here, and there would have been precedent. The league often likes to have Michigan and Ohio State in the noon slot here by itself, so a move to 3:30pm would have been nice. It is even possible now with Purdue having its lights, but alas, it is for not. This will only be the third time this season Purdue kicks off at noon, and just second at home.

A lot could be at stake, too. If both Purdue and Indiana win this weekend against Iowa and Rutgers, respectively, a bowl berth will be on the line. An Indiana victory would also give them the Old Oaken Bucket for a fifth year in a row, which has never happened before. Purdue’s longest winning streak in the series was 10 in a row from 1948-57, which was broken by a tie, then three more Purdue wins.
