Week 6 College Football Bowl Projections: Purdue Still In!

New, comments

The media still believe Purdue can reach 6 wins.

We have more bowl projections even after an 18 point home loss and a bye week. Purdue is only 2-2, but the schedule looks favorable enough (and people are confident enough in this team) to think a bowl game is possible. Let’s see where folks have Purdue headed this week:

Sports Illustrated:

Foster Farms Bowl, Santa Clara, Calif. (8 p.m., FOX)

Big Ten vs. Pac-12

Purdue vs. Oregon

Oh man, does this one sound like fun! Purdue and Oregon played a home and home where the Ducks won both games in 2008 and 2009, but only by 8 total points and with one game going to double overtime. Now we get a couple of high octane offenses again? Sign me up!

SBNation:

Music City (Nashville): Purdue vs. Texas A&M

Will Kevin Sumlin still be around for this? Would losing to Purdue be his crippling blow? Will a pro-Purdue crowd head down I-65 and take over Nashville? Could Purdue sweep the “new” SEC schools in a single season after not beating an SEC team in decades?

CBS Sports:

Outback (Tampa): Purdue vs. Auburn

Purdue has never played Auburn, so playing another Land-Grant school not named after its state could be kind of fun.

ESPN:

Ford Field, Detroit

Dec. 26, 6:15 p.m. (ESPN)

Duke vs. Purdue

At last, we can unify the Detroit Bowl with three wins under three different sponsors! Of course, the ultimate would be getting Eastern Michigan into this one somehow to make it three different Directional Michigans under three different sponsors.
