As we all know, Purdue has been looking high and low for a point guard in the 2018 class and it appears Matt Painter and Co have zeroed in on top 100, 4*(97 rating, 59th overall, 12th rated Pg, #2 player in Indiana) Campbell as their primary target.
At 6’0, 160, Campbell is a lightening quick point guard who can get to the rim in the blink of an eye, but also has the perimeter game to make opponents play him straight up.
If you’re interested in sauce, Tyger should be considered Blazin and well coated. He makes the spectacular look routine, and would propel Purdue’s recruiting class to a level we haven’t seen since the Baby Boiler class, with 3 4* players already prepared to matriculate to Purdue next season.
Purdue’s main completion for Campbell appears to be DePaul. They have invested a good bit of time in Campbell, and they’ve been considered the front runners for quite some time. Purdue, however, has a wide open depth chart and some nice pieces already in place to sell to Campbell.
If Painter truly wants to keep Carsen Edwards primarily at the 2, a point guard of Campbell’s quality and ability would make that possible.
Here’s a quick look at the quick Campbell.
