Purdue Football Recruiting: Allen Daniels Commits

Finally, an interior defensive lineman.

The wait is over. Brohm finally has an interior defensive line commit. After PJ Fleck plucked Malcolm Robinson from us a week or so ago, we have been waiting, and waiting... and waiting.

Allen Daniels, a 6’2” 280 pound interior defensive lineman is out of the peach state. He is rated a 2 star by rivals. Formerly, he was committed to Boston College, but after we can calling, he couldn’t resist. Along with Purdue, Boston College and Kansas State are the only other P5 schools to offer.

He is a traditional interior defensive lineman, there isn’t much else to say about him. Defensive lineman do all the work that goes unnoticed so that the linebackers can make the flashy plays. He does a nice job of firing out low and plugging the gap that he needs to be in. He isn’t going to be a pass rusher by any means, but he should help in the run game with his low to the ground frame and solid build.

To feel comfortable, I really want another interior defensive line commit. I’m not sure who it will be, but NSD is two days away and we need another. The depth in the trenches is thin, but Allen helps out with that right away. Welcome aboard, Boiler Up!
