With depth already an issue, Purdue makes some changes this week.

Purdue’s injury news is not good this week. The Boilers have already been without two of its better defenders in the first two games, but now they may be without their top two offensive tackles. Here is the injury report this week culled from the Lafayette Journal & Courier.

Matt McCann - RT - McCann rolled an ankle this week in practice and appears to be questionable at best this week. Cameron Cermin, the experienced tackle with more than 20 starts who should probably be starting anyway, is filling in for him.

Martesse Patterson - LT - According to coach Hazell Patterosn is "He's going through some personal things that we're not going to talk about right now.” And that is that. If he does not play JuCo transfer Jalen Neal will play in his spot. If both Neal and Cermin play (and the line performs better) I really hope they stay that way, but that would be an adjustment and we can’t have that.

Jarrett Burgess - WR - Burgess injured his thumb in practice and is out for at least four weeks. He has played a decent amount as a reserve and is a useful receiver on sweeps.

Austin Larkin - DE - larkin is still hobbled with an ankle injury, but Hazell hopes he can go about 15 snaps. For a player that has yet to play a down for Purdue everyone says we need him. Of course, if he can actually create a pass rush we need him.

Da’Wan Hunte - CB - Purdue’s top corner has also been hobbled by an ankle injury. He has been practicing, but Hazell says he will deal with fatigue because he hasn’t been working out at all due to his injury.

Markell Jones - RB - Jones still has a touchy shoulder, but he will play on Saturday. he is being limited in his hits in practice this week until the game.
