It is one thing for me to fire shots at the current situation of Purdue football from behind a keyboard. I am just a disgruntled fan blessed enough to be given a voice among the few fans left. I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe Purdue really is close to a breakthrough as coach Hazell says. Maybe he is a great player’s coach and has his guys fighting for him to save his job.
Appleby on #Gators coach Jim McElwain: "I've never been around a place where our coaches truly care."

That was former Boilermaker Austin Appleby on the eve of his first start in Gainesville. He will be Florida’s starter the next few weeks due to an injury to Luke Del Rio, and this is a damning statement concerning the current coaching staff in West Lafayette.
You know what though? Good for him. It is clear that Hazell has been a disaster from day 1 and the players are the ones suffering. Within the last week or so I have had conversations with the parent of a former player and with the friend of a another former player and there is a similar vibe. In those conversations it was made very clear that Hazell does not have a strong relationship with the players. I may write about it after Hazell is done, but this comment from Appleby is a very public and scathing shot at Hazell and the mess he has created.
I want to see both Austin and Danny Etling have success at their respective schools. They are both good kids and talented players. Appleby even holds a Purdue degree already. the more success they have hte easier it makes Mike Bobinski’s decision on November 27th.
