Reports: Mike Bobinski Expected to Take Purdue Athletic Director Position

We’re about a half hour from the press conference, so let’s just makes this hte open thread. According to Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Jounral-Constitution Georgia Tech athletic director Mike Bobinski is expected to be named Purdue’s new athletic director today:

Indications are that Georgia Tech athletic director Mike Bobinski will be named to the same position at Purdue. An announcement from Purdue is expected Tuesday morning.

We will, of course, have more on this later. Nathan Baird of the Lafayette Journal & Courier will stream the press conference on Facebook Live.

if this is true it is a bit of a coup for Purdue to steal a Power 5 conference athletic director away from another school. Bobinski also has experience in working with a school that is known well for its academics and the challenges that come with balancing athletics and academics.
