Will we be adding more gold today? It is possible. Today is the 10-meter Synchronized men’s diving competition and Purdue’s duo of Steele Johnson and David Boudia will be representing the Red, White, and Blue. Unlike the individual competition, the synchronized competition is a one-day event featuring eight teams:
Russia
N. Shleikher and V. Minibaev
Germany
P. Hausding and S. Klein
Mexico
I. García and G. Sánchez
United States
S. Johnson and D. Boudia
Ukraine
M. Dolhov and O. Gorshkovozov
Brazil
J. Oliveira and H. Parisi
China
A. Chen and Y. Lin
Great Britain
T. Daley and D. Goodfellow
The Chinese are definitely the team to watch out for here, but the Americans should do well. Boudia took bronze in this event four years ago, so he has a load of experience. here are the odds according to Bovada to win:
China -- 1/7
Mexico -- 8/1
Germany -- 9/1
Russia -- 14/1
Great Britain -- 14/1
USA -- 18/1
Ukraine -- 20/1
Brazil -- 100/1
The event is going to be streamed live at NBCOlympics.com at 3pm, and will air over the air in the prime time block on NBC. Each team gets five dives with a cumulative score determining the winner.
Good luck David and Steele!
