The common refrain for Purdue this season (or any team that is coming off of a 2-10 campaign) is what newcomers can contribute. Today’s player is a newcomer that, as JuCo transfer, was brought in to shore up the secondary immediately.
C.J. Parker - Jr.
Menifee, CA (Mount San Jacinto JC)

Safety
2016 Projection: Contributor at safety
It has been awhile since Purdue has had a large, intimidating safety in the middle of the field. in fact, you could argue that it has been awhile since Purdue has had anyone in the middle of the field given the preponderance of third and long conversions over the middle. Perhaps Parker can change that.
Last season Parker had 61 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery for Mount San Jacinto. It is hoped that he can bring some stability to the safety position. Leroy Clark is expected to play at one spot, but Parker may challenge Robert Gregory for the second spot.
