Purdue Football Adds Surprise Commitment Malik Kimbrough

Purdue picks up an extremely late addition to its 2016 recruiting class.

There have been rumors that there would be an extremely late addition to the 2016 recruiting class for football and today those rumors were confirmed. Today the Boilers added Malik Kimbrough, a junior college transfer from Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California.

Kimbrough is a 5’11” 182 pound athlete that lined up as both a receiver and a running back, but it appears that he will be primarily used as a dynamic kick and punt return man:

"When you watch his film, you say, 'Oh my goodness,' " Hazell said. "I had a guy come in who used to coach in the NFL, and his comment was ... he does things with guys on the field that most (players) can't do when guys aren't on the field.

"He's got great vision, quickness, and enough top end speed to go the long way."

Well,t his is an interesting addition to say the least. Purdue does need help in the return game and Brian Lankford-Johnson is also supposed to help there. It remains to be seen if Kimbrough will have a bigger role within the offense, either.

Of course we have highlights:

Welcome aboard, Malik!
