Purdue picked up a huge, both literally and figuratively, commit today as Malcolm Robinson, a 3*, 6’2, 280 pound defensive tackle from Massillon, Ohio gave Purdue his verbal commitment. Robinson is the 8th class of 2017 player to give the Boilers a verbal commitment, and is the second commit on the defensive line, along with Tennessee defensive end Tijaun Mason.
Robinson has the standard Pu-Pu platter of MAC offers, but also boasts a Boston College and Virginia offer. Both Army and Air Force have also offered Mr. Robinson a scholarship, so I’m guessing grades and character aren’t an issue. In Robinson, Purdue is picking up a tree stump of a defensive tackle that refuses to stay blocked. Based on his short highlight film, he gets into the backfield, moves well for his size, and pursues the ball from the defensive tackle position, refusing to stay blocked.
