72 Days to Purdue Football: Jason King

Purdue's senior guard is one of the most experienced players on the roster.

In general, the Purdue offensive line has a lot of questions. Today's player is not one of them. He is a long-time starter, one of two that will be relied upon to be an anchor up front.

Jason King -€” Sr. (5)

Little Rock, AR (Pulaski Academy)

Offensive Guard

2016 Projection: Starter at left guard

King is one of the very few players left that was originally recruited by Danny Hope. In 2013, during coach Hazell's first year (he redshirted in 2012) King eventually started 5 games and has been at left guard ever since. He enters 2016 with 29 career starts, making him one of the most experienced players on the team.

King has been solid in opening holes in the running game the last two years. Still, he needs those around him to play well because he can only do so much as one man. He joins fellow guard Jordan Roos as the pillars of the offensive line that needs to be rebuilt around them. Both of them will start and play a lot because we don't have a lot of other options.
