Purdue Football: Dan Monteroso to Transfer

Junior Wide Receiver, Dan Monteroso is planning to transfer from Purdue to pursue his basketball career.

According to the Purdue Exponent Sports Desk, Junior to be Wide Receiver is planning to announce that he is transferring from Purdue on Friday.

This seems to be a surprising move, as it seemed as if Monteroso was climbing the depth chart after an extremely strong spring game. Following the spring game, Travis even posted Monteroso as a "Plus", meaning he played outstanding. On that day, Monteroso posted a line of three catches for 93 yards. This includes hauling in a 44 yard touchdown pass. He was also being used in the return game that day, having racked up 75 yards on four kickoff returns.

While he hadn't produced much during his Purdue career to date, I was pulling for him to take over Anthrop's role this coming season as the primary slot receiver. Now we will sit here and ponder who will be our next slot receiver, until we get a depth chart later this summer.
