As we still wait for the news on if Caleb "Biggie" Swanigan is staying or leaving, our stud recruit from the Lone Star State has moved up in the final Rivals.com rankings.
Carsen Edwards, who single-handedly led his Atascocita team to the state championship has moved up to #91 in the latest rankings. Edwards, who averaged over 20 points per game his senior season, walks into quite the battle for point guard minutes that many did not see coming at the end of the season. With consistent starter P.J. Thompson returning for his junior year, and recent 5th year transfer Spike Albrecht coming to West Lafayette, it seems as if there will be a nice position battle between the three.
While Edwards is only 6' tall, many see him as a combo guard. With the clog of minutes at the point guard position, maybe Coach Painter will find some minutes for him at shooting guard is certain situations (Such as needing another ball handler against a press). Either way, Carsen can score and he is explosive enough to come in and make some type of impact for our Boilers. Enjoy some highlights of Carsen who seems to wear his shorts as high as Johnny Hill.
With the recent murmurs of Kostas Antetokounmpo being on campus, let us all pray that we get a commit from him as well. Greek Freak Jr. has moved up to #89 in the final rankings and still has a few days left to decide between Purdue, St. Johns (WHY) and Florida. With it sounding like a Biggie departure is more and more evident, Kostas could be a big time late pick up for Coach Painter.
