Tonight be the most painful night in the Indiana HS Basketball State Tournament. 256 teams enter, but only 128 teams leave. More than a quarter of the teams that enter the tournament leave in one night. Some are playing their first games and are out in 32 minutes. Others survived earlier in the week only to meet an end tonight. Next to Regional Saturday, it is the best night of the tournament.
So here are your scores, with the following notes on Purdue targets:
- For Fort Wayne North and 2019 target Keion Brooks:

- At Logansport, P.J. Thompson's brother Isaiah, a 2019 target with Zionsville, will face 2018 target Robert Phinisee with McCutcheon in the championship game. Ziosnville has not won a sectional since 1995. Phinisee had 17 points in the win over Lafayette Jeff, while Thompson had 21 in the win over Lafayette Harrison.
- 2017 possibility Zach Gunn fell for Hamilton Southeastern in a tight game with Carmel.
- Kris Wilkes, Perhaps Purdue's top target for 2017, had 31 points for North Central in the win over Warren Central. Kevin Easley, a 2018 target from Lawrence North, fell to probable Mr. Basketball Kyle Guy of Lawrence Central.
- Paul Scruggs, the 2017 target from Southport, has taken his team to the final along with Joey Brunk, the 2016 Butler signee.
- Romeo Langford, the top 2018 player in Indiana, finished with 34 tonight as New Albany easily moved on.
- Jaren Jackson, a 2017 target, had 24 points for Park Tudor as they earned yet another easy win.
- The last update of the night goes to Desmond Bane of Seton Catholic. He had 41 points, but mother of God this dunk:
