2016 Women's Big Ten Tournament: Purdue vs. Penn State

The Lady Boilers are the No. 6 seed in Indianapolis playing tonight.

Will the Purdue women return to the NCAA Tournament this year? early on it looked like a no-brainer as they raced out to a 5-0 start in Big Ten play a 14-2 early record with narrow losses to Stanford and Boston College. then the ladies lost five straight, 8 of 10, and even lost to last place to Wisconsin at one point. now they enter the Big Ten Tournament tonight as a 10 seed in ESPN's latest bracketology. that may be contingent upon how they do in Indianapolis.

Purdue opens tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the 6-seed after a 19-10 regular season that included a 10-8 Big Ten finish. They have now won three in a row as well over Nebraska, Rutgers, and Wisconsin. they will face 11 seed Penn State, whom they beat 88-78 in double overtime on January 30th in State College. that was one of just two wins during the brutal 2-8 stretch, and Bridget Perry had 27 in the win.

the game will be on BTN live tonight at 8:45pm, so consider this your open thread. A win sends Purdue to the quarterfinals to face #3 seed Michigan State at roughly the same time Friday night. MSU beat Purdue 68-56 in East Lansing on January 27.

Sure, this is all semantics until UConn wins the women's tournament yet again, but let's support our ladies.
