A couple more players have now officially signed on the dotted line for Purdue. First we have Texas defensive tackle Anthony Watts:
Pleased to announce Anthony Watts is OFFICIALLY a Boilermaker! #BoilerUp – @Awatts__56 pic.twitter.com/O6B70ub8N0— Purdue Football (@BoilerFootball) February 3, 2016
As you can see, Watts is a big defensive tackle at 6'4" 290 pounds. He had 13 sacks from his inside lineman position this past fall for Jack Yates HS in Houston, TX. Here is a video interview with him from 2014:
Purdue also adds quarterback Jared Sparks. Sparks is a very interesting commitment because he is a dual threat quarterback that is a lot better at running the football than David Blough and Elijah Sindelar. He is probably heading toward a redshirt year, but I would be very interested to see him run an Oregon type of spread if we could put all our speed on the field at once.
