Purdue National Signing Day 2016: Josh Hayes Leads Off

Purdue's first catch of the day is a 6' cornerback from Pike HS in Indianapolis.

The first LOI is fresh off the fax machine and it is Josh Hayes according to the official Purdue football twitter:

Hayes is one of the few Indiana commitments from Pike High School in Indianapolis. Pike is usually known as a basketball school (remember David Teague and Rodney Smith?), but in recent seasons their football program has played some pretty meaningful games. This past season they were 4-6, but played in the always difficult Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference with the likes of Ben Davis, Center Grove, Carmel, and Warren Central.

It should be noted that Hayes joins Jack Wegher, Austin Larkin, Navon Mosley, and Jalen Neal, who signed as mid-year enrollees.

Both myself and The Legend will be updating this stream as the faxes roll in today, so stayed tuned. We're expecting a class of 21-23.

UPDATE: Here is the announcement for Mosley.
