Purdue Football Announces Home and Home with Vanderbilt

With Missouri and Wake Forest on future schedules I think we are seeing a theme to Purdue's idea of scheduling. Today another home and home series was announced, and it is a bit out there even if it fits the theme. Today the Boilers announced a home and home series with Vanderbilt out of the SEC.

The Commodores will come to West Lafayette on September 7, 2019 for the first time since September 27, 1941. that game was a 3-0 defeat. Purdue made a return trip to Nashville on October 3, 1942 and lost 26-0, so the Boilers are a combined 0-2 against the Commodores and haven't scored a point.

This time the Boilers will make a return game too, but it will be awhile. Purdue is not schedule to head to Nashville until September 8, 2029. No, that is not a typo. The farthest-out game scheduled for Purdue is now a few weeks before my 50th birthday.
